RSS Feed Changes

August 12th, 2014

As you may have noticed I rolled out a new version of this website last week and I wanted to outline an RSS improvement that I made.

The site typically has two types of posts, a link with commentary or long form original content. I have never been happy about the way link posts appeared in RSS readers. Previously it didn’t matter the post type it would always point to the site, then if was a link you would have to click again to visit the resource.

Having to click twice is annoying and this has now been changed. To help differentiate the two types look at this screenshot from Feedly:

RSS Feed

The first two are linked posts and will appear with the right arrow. Now clicking the titles will take you directly to the resource.

If you are an RSS subscriber I hope this change will be beneficial to you and your reading experience.
