Hacktoberfest 2016
Published on by Eric L. Barnes
Hacktoberfest, the month-long festival of code, is back again this year. The event is hosted in partnership between GitHub and DigitalOcean, and the rules are simple. If you make four pull requests between October 1st and October 31st, you’ll get a t-shirt. It’s available worldwide with no stipulations.
The pull request can be anything from fixing a bug, adding a feature, or contributing to the documentation. If something needs improving that a pull request can fix, then it counts. On the DigitalOcean site, they list some of the featured projects participating, and Laravel is one.
They are also making it easy for project maintainers to get help by applying the #hacktoberfest tag to any open issues that you need assistance with.
Signup starts October 1st and will remain open for the entire month.
