Episode 3 of Decide with Jev is out. It runs about seven minutes.
Jev can now answer three questions about a draft. But the model should not pick what the app does next. Our code should.
In this episode, we write a small PHP class called PreflightPolicy. It reads Jev's answers and gives back one label: ready for editor, revise, or needs review. None of these labels publish a draft. Even the best draft still goes to a person.
The video also shows:
- why a missing answer is not the same as a "no"
- why a confidence of zero and no confidence at all take different paths
- the two numbers a draft has to reach, 0.85 and 1.6, and why they are a starting point for this course and not a rule for every app
- why the order of the checks matters
- what "ready" means, and what it does not
At the end, we try an example number in Tinkerwell. You can watch the answer flip when the bar moves.
The code is on the episode-3 branch of the Decide with Jev repository. You can watch the whole series in the playlist.
