Filament v5 Released With Livewire v4 Support and a New Blueprint Tool
Published on by Eric L. Barnes
The Filament team has announced Filament v5, a release focused primarily on compatibility with Livewire v4, which shipped this week. The update ensures Filament stays aligned with the latest Livewire internals while keeping upgrades predictable and low risk for existing applications.
Filament v5
According to the announcement, Filament v5 exists mainly to support Livewire v4 without introducing breaking changes into existing Filament v4 applications. By shipping Livewire v4 support as a new major version, projects that do not explicitly depend on Livewire can avoid unexpected breakage during routine upgrades.
Importantly, the team emphasized that there are no functional changes between Filament v4 and v5 beyond Livewire v4 support, and new features will continue to be released for both major versions going forward.
Filament Blueprint
Alongside the v5 release, the team introduced a premium plugin, Filament Blueprint, a new tool designed to help developers and AI-assisted workflows plan Filament applications more accurately.
Blueprint focuses on producing clear, implementation-ready plans for Filament projects, reducing common issues such as incorrect component usage, missing configuration details, or vague layout instructions. The goal is to make it easier to move from an idea or prompt to a concrete Filament implementation with fewer revisions.
