Migrating Laravel News from Laravel Forge to Cloud

Published

Today we migrated Laravel News from a traditional Forge managed setup over to Laravel Cloud, live on YouTube, and walked through the decisions, the deployment steps, and the “gotchas” you should expect when moving a real production Laravel app.

If you are currently running Laravel on Forge (or any VPS-based setup) and you have been curious what a Cloud migration actually looks like in practice, this stream is a useful end to end example using a production workload.

This session focuses on moving a live application and sharing lessons learned along the way. In particular, we covered:

  • How we approached migrating a production Laravel app from Forge to Cloud
  • The deployment and cutover mindset (reduce risk, verify in steps, then flip traffic)
  • Practical checks to run before and after the move
  • Lessons learned you can apply to your own Laravel Cloud migration

Give it a watch and try out Laravel Cloud if you haven't.
