The Packagist team has just announced a private commercial version that allows you to install your code with Composer faster, comes with permission management, and gives you more insights into your dependencies.

“With Private Packagist composer update runs a lot faster”, said Nils Adermann, “because the package metadata does not need to be loaded from Git repositories directly (which can take quite a while) and because the set of packages accessible to Composer is limited to exactly those used within the organization, rather than all open-source packages ever published for PHP.”

It’s not only faster but includes other features that are perfect for teams:

  • Permission management
  • Search within all packages used in the organization
  • An overview of all open-source packages used within the organization

Pricing for this new service starts at €49 a month for up to three users and an organization level plan at €199 month for up to eight users. Then €14 a user for any additional.

With a plan, you get unlimited private and open-source packages, unlimited package installations, package search, and more. All plans come with a 14-day free trial. For more information visit Packagist.com.
