Earlier this year, Matt Stauffer reached out about an AI skill he created. He built it to automate the review process for the numerous Shifts he runs at Tighten. After seeing a demo, it gave me so many ideas!
As you know, I've made an effort to integrate Shift more with AI. So I'm excited to create the next integration. I built four AI skills to help manage the entire Shift workflow directly from your AI. From analyzing your projects on what Shift to run next, to running and reviewing a Shift. Even a skill to run one-off refactors.
Here's a quick look at the skills:
/shift:analyze— analyze your project and determine the next Shift to run/shift:run— trigger a Shift to run against your current repository/shift:review— review and process the Shift PR for additional automation/shift:refactor— run a Shift Workbench task to refactor your code
I've been alpha testing this on my own projects for the last week. Now I've opened it to all Shift users. Subscribers to a Shifty Plan are able to directly run the Shifts included with their plan as well as premium refactor tasks. All users may run free Shifts and free refactor tasks. Any paid Shifts will guide users through a Stripe Checkout flow to complete their order.
See It In Action
To see just how powerful Shift + AI can be, watch me fully upgrade to Laravel 13 and Livewire 4 in just 15 minutes — fully automated with Shift + AI. No manual steps, no hunting through changelogs, just a smooth end-to-end upgrade. I never even opened my IDE.
Of course, you may jump right into the Shift AI skills to get started.
